Joe Godsey races to third-place finish with Hell Tour at Haubstadt
With Mother Nature postponing Thursday’s and Friday’s action, Roth Motorsports returned with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals on Saturday at Highland Speedway (Highland, Ill.) for the fourth week on tour. (Josh James Artwork)
In a field of 33 DIRTcar Late Models, Roth failed to qualify for the $10,000-to-win A-Main while Joe Godsey was forced to take a provisional after an early exit in his B-Main. Improving seven spots in the 50-lap affair, Joe recorded a 12th-place outing.
On Sunday afternoon at Tri-State Speedway (Haubstadt, Ind.), Godsey followed up the second-fastest time in his group with a heat race win. Scoring his best finish of the tour in the feature, Joe raced to a third-place run. He followed Bobby Pierce and Payton Freeman across the line. Jeff charged from the 10th row to cross the line in 14th in the 50-lapper.
Joe has climbed to fifth in the latest DIRTcar Summer Nationals point standings.
