Roth Motorsports completes first year with Hell Tour

Wrapping up their first year on tour with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals, Roth Motorsports pilot Jeff Roth and Joe Godsey traveled to Butler Motor Speedway (Quincy, Mich.) on Wednesday afternoon to kick off the final week with the Hell Tour. In a field of 24 cars, Joe secured his spot into the opening night feature with a third-place finish in his heat while Jeff placed fifth. With $5,000 on the line, Godsey jumped up one spot to finish sixth while Roth crossed the line in 11th.

On Thursday night at I-96 Speedway (Lake Odessa, Mich.), Godsey grabbed the fifth-and-final transfer spot in his heat while Roth had to rely on a provisional. Jeff passed four cars to finish 16th while Joe notched a 13th-place outing.

The following night Tri-City Motor Speedway (Auburn, Mich.), both drivers failed to transfer out of their heat races, sending them into the B-Main. Joe streaked to a 12-lap consolation victory while Jeff came in ninth. Starting the $10,000-to-win A-Main in 17th, Godsey dropped one spot to place 18th while Roth finished 22nd.

For the Hell Tour finale on Saturday at Merritt Speedway (Merritt, Mich.), Godsey notched an eighth-place finish in the 40-lap feature while Roth was an early retiree on the seventh circuit.

Joe finished in fourth and Jeff in sixth in the final DIRTcar Summer Nationals point standings.
